Where I spent my time this summer

0

ZZZOOOOOOMMM! We just got out of the Bejing International Airport when a huge 787 jumbo jet flew right over my head. That’s right, I spent the summer in China!

In China I visited lots of cool cities and saw many spectacular sites. One really neat city was Zhang Jia Jie where we explored many mountains and caves. One cave that was magnificent is called The Yellow Dragon Cave. All the stalactites and stalagmites are natural.
After we left Zhang Jia Jie, we flew to a different city called Tai An where there are lots of mountains. I took the gondola up one of the most famous mountains in China call Mount Tai. The gondola was actually kind of scary. I was so high up that it felt like I was floating above clouds. The views from the top of the mountain breath taking. It was hard to imagine that it wasn’t just a painting.

In Tai An, I also visited the natural hot springs. Each hot tub full of natural spring water had a bag of certain herbs that helps you with various ailments. They also had a special mini pool filled with tiny little fish that latch on to your skin. It’s the latest massage craze in China.

We also went to this amusement park called Fantawild Amusement park. There were lots of cool shows and 5D displays. There was also some really great roller coasters, but my favourite one was the giant yellow coaster.

The weather in China is so hot! A typical day in central China got up over 40 degrees Celsius. I feel very lucky to have AC in all of the rooms in my house, for most people in China don’t. I’m very grateful that I don’t have to work outside every day in 40 degree weather.

There are many modes of transportation in China. The most popular being the train. There are two different types of passenger trains. There is the bullet train and the slow train. The slow train is way less expensive than the bullet train. For financial reasons, most Chinese people take the slow train. I’m glad that I got a chance to experience them both just to see what they are like.

China is very well known for its manufacturing. My uncle owns a factory, and he was nice enough to give me a private tour. Like most other factories in China, there was no AC. I’m glad that I don’t have to experience that in my life. Working rigorously every day in the hot weather would be tiring!

I was so lucky to be able to experience how other cultures live during my visit to China. I learned to be thankful for what I have and not to take anything for granted.

Prompt
Where did you spend most of time this summer? Describe this place.

S.M.A.R.T. Goal #2

Guess what?  I made another S.M.A.R.T. Goal!  Like I said, they are quick and easy.  Here is my S.M.A.R.T. Goal:
Specific                            I chose AAA baseball because I want to become a really good baseball player.
Measurable                    Practising will help me become a better player.  The results of my tryouts will determine if I make it into AAA or if I don’t.
Attainable                       I will practice my pitching (30 throws) on one day.  My batting (hit 30 balls) on the next day.  On the last day, I will do fielding (pop flies, line drives, and groundballs)
Realistic                          I will practice by using my baseball equipment.
Time Bound                   The end of baseball tryouts.
It is really fun to make S.M.A.R.T. Goals because you can go on an adventure to achieve all of them!  Tell me what you make a S.M.A.R.T. goal about in the comments, thanks.😀🤑

S.M.A.R.T. Goals are really easy to make.  S.M.A.R.T. stands for: Specific Measurable Attainable Realistic and Time bound.  I made a S.M.A.R.T. Goal, here it is:
Specific                            I want to put more detail in to my writing.  It is important because I can learn the English language, I can convey my feelings better, and I can get better grades.
Measurable                    My goal be achieved when my family tells me that I’m a better communicator, verbally and written.  I will also get better marks.
Attainable                       I will write a one page story once a week.
Realistic                          I will practice my writing more often.
Time Bound                   I want to achieve my goal by the end of the school year.
Overall, setting  a S.M.A.R.T. Goal is quick and easy.  That is why you should set one for yourself. 🙂

North Vancouver

I love North Vancouver!  Do you?  I was born there and it is a beautiful place to live.  I don’t remember much because I moved away when I was 2 years old, but the pictures are really nice!  The first picture was taken at the top of Cypress Mountain looking down on the great city of Vancouver.  The second picture shows the Capilano suspension bridge.  When I went on it, it was scary because it rocked back and forth and it felt like it was going to break.  My mom went on it and screamed at the top her lungs because kids were shaking the bridge.

New Year’s Invention

0

If you could have one thing invented just for you, what would it be?  For me, it would be a time machine!  I think it would be cool because if you went back in time, you could meet your old self!  Then you could do work twice as fast.  Another good thing about having a time machine is if you get in trouble for doing something wrong, you could go back in time and stop yourself from doing it.  The last good thing is that you could be in two places at once!  Something bad about it would be that the two Colins could get in a fight and the original could get killed.  Then the other Colin would die as well.  Then I wouldn’t exist anymore.  The positives outweigh the negatives, so that is why I would love to have a time machine.

Where I’ve Been

1
I love TRAVELING!  Where have I been?   I have been to many places all over the world.  For instance, I’ve been to China, specifically, Beijing, Tianjin, Hong Kong, and Hu Nan.  In China, I went on a Bullet Train that was so fast, I could barely stand up!  The Chinese food was so good.
I’ve also been to many places in the USA.  I went to Orlando, Florida where Disney World is located.  Disney was so fun!  I also traveled to California where I visited Disney Land, Universal Studios, Beverly Hills, and Hollywood.  I also went to some beaches like Santa Monica Beach, Venice Beach, and Huntington Beach.  I went to Maui and Honolulu which are in Hawaii.  I was in Nashville, Tennessee several times for hockey. I’ve been to places in Ohio such as Cincinnati, Columbus, and an amusement park called Kings Island in Mason.  There was a really cool wooden roller coaster in Mason called the “BEAST”.   When I went to Indiana, I played hockey in Bloomington.  I also went to a little town called Santa Claus.  There is an awesome amusement park there called Holiday World, and it has the world’s second longest water slide called the “WILDEBEEST!”  I lived in Louisville, Kentucky for two years and I had hockey tournaments in Lexington, Owensboro, and Frankfort.
I was born in North Vancouver, B.C. where I lived for six months.  Then I moved to Langley B.C. where I lived for eighteen months.  After that I lived in Surrey B.C. for three years.  I’ve driven through Banff, Jasper, and all through the Lower Mainland.  I went to visit my cousin a couple of times in Prince George.  My first vacation was to Penticton.  When I went to Edmonton, I visited the West Edmonton Mall where I went on some pretty cool rides and slides.  I visited some dinosaurs in Drumheller, and visited some relatives in Calgary.  Now I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  I’m on a great hockey team that travels to a lot of small towns such as Clavet, Martensville, Aberdeen, Allen, Warman, Langham, Dalmeny, and Dundurn.
Out of all the trips I’ve been on, the one that I’m most excited for is my next one to Turks and Caicos.  It is a Caribbean island resort that is full of water parks and beaches.  It’s all inclusive except extras.  One extra I’m really, really, really excited for is getting the opportunity to scratch discs with real DJ’s.  I will be able to record my own song.  I can’t wait to go there!

Traveling is really fun.  The only part that I don’t like is the airplane ride.  They can be so long.  I don’t like long ones because I can’t go to sleep on airplanes.  My sister annoys so much.  Anyways, I love traveling and I’m looking forward to going to Europe next summer, I don’t know where in Europe, but I’m still going to Europe.  Traveling is so fun!  I love going to places that I’ve never been to before.  If I like that place, then I’ll go back.  Did you know, the Concorde is a jet that flew from New York to Paris.  Its top speed was 2499.311 killometres per hour.  One blew up in mid-air so they decided to discontinued them for the safety of traveler.  I wouldn’t want to ride one, would you?
